MCU IN REVIEW - KINDA FUNNY (2021)
Kinda Funny's In Review series started one year before I began making intros for them, with MCU In Review, a rewatch and ranking of every Marvel Cinematic Universe movie starting with Iron Man (2008) leading into Infinity War (2018). The success of the series lead to In Review becoming an ongoing show, covering other franchises, but with the sheer scale of MCU In Review in terms of series entries and having it be what started it all, setting the tone and format for everything that came after, it has always felt like the version of the show.
So in February 2021, I pitched the idea to Tim Gettys that we create a brand new version. Something that more closely resembled the iconic MCU intro and celebrated everything that had come out of In Review. It needed to include easter eggs, it needed to pay reference to the quotes and moments the audience loved. It needed to feel expansive like the franchise it was about, showing love to both the audience and the guests on Kinda Funny over the years. If there was an opportunity in any frame to add something, we wanted it there.
This has been the hardest I've ever worked in my life, managing to complete this in one month on top of a full time job in post production. There were so many pieces that were their challenge, so many assets to create. I was drawing artwork up until the morning it went out.
The reaction to the finished version when it was finally released has been a career highlight. Seeing people spot themselves and get excited.  Being able to highlight fan artwork, and share the spotlight in a way I hadn't previously meant the world.

MCU IN REVIEW VARIANTS
I've always liked seeing production companies creating custom versions of their opening production logos to match a movie's style, so whenever the opportunity comes up to create a variant version for an intro, I always try to do it. I've done it a few times for MCU In Review, starting off with Loki.
